This was a much shorter book and much more fun to read! It's a different sort of book that is for sure but very vivid writing, you feel like you are right there on the wild shores of Vancouver Island and the Queen Charlotte's. The people stories are heartbreaking and they make you want to hear more about the people she meets and what happened to them. I wish I knew where these places were that she went to. Emily Carr was a brave woman to go to the places she went to, just her and her little dog. We are all richer for her work and her perseverance. I will definitely try to read more of her writing.
