Today we went to the annual BBQ put on by the karate school. This year they had a fun competition for the kids. They competed in Kata's and they also did some sword sparring with foam swords.

They all won medals and ribbons which they were very proud of.
Afterwards there was big pot luck dinner with hamburgers and hot dogs, lots of salads and other goodies. Unfortunately the hamburgers were under cooked and I couldn't convince myself to eat it. Someone also took my metal bowl and serving spoon that I had brought with our salad in it. I was a bit disappointed about that. Afterwards there the door prizes were drawn, Ian was the only one in our family to win something. He picked a hat, at least it is something useful.
After the prizes were all drawn it was time for the much anticipated zucchini races. Ian won his first round but wasn't so lucky in the second one.
Overall the kids had a great time and the rain held off until our drive home.
